HOW ARE GARBAGE TRUCKS MADE?
Introduction
Garbage trucks are large vehicles that collect and transport garbage. They are usually made from metal, with a compartment to hold the waste and compartments for additional tools or material. Garbage trucks have many moving parts that allow them to function properly, including hydraulic arms, hydraulic jacks and levers.
The garbage truck is built on a chassis.
The chassis is the frame of the garbage truck, on which all other parts are mounted. It is made from steel, and consists of several parts. The engine and transmission are usually located under the hopper in front. Sometimes there are two axles for hauling heavy loads; other times there may be three axles for hauling very large loads.
Truck Weight
A garbage truck can weigh anywhere from 40,000 to 50,000 pounds (20 to 25 tons US). The exact weight will depend on the make and model of the truck, as well as its size.
The garbage truck has a hopper.
The hopper is the top part of the truck, where all the garbage that you throw into your trash bin is collected and compacted. The compaction process reduces the volume of waste by about 30% in order to make it easier for the truck to transport and dump. After being compacted, the garbage is lifted up into a hopper so it can be dumped out at landfills or incinerators.
The hopper is made out of carbon steel plates.
The hopper is made out of carbon steel plates. The plates are welded together in a factory that makes steel for construction and manufacturing purposes.
The hopper is made from carbon steel, which is a type of metal that has been used for thousands of years. It can be melted down and reshaped into new forms, so it’s very useful for things like fences, tools, and garbage trucks!
The mechanical section compresses the garbage.
The mechanical section is composed of a series of hydraulic cylinders that push on the garbage and compress it. This compresses the trash into a cube shape, which helps ensure that it will fit completely in the truck’s body. The compression process can be done in two ways:
- The first method involves a single hydraulic cylinder that pushes on all sides of the cube at once.
- The second method uses four cylinders working together to compress each side individually.
Garbage trucks are made of several parts
A garbage truck is made up of several parts. You’ll find the chassis, which is the part of the vehicle that includes wheels and axles; a hopper bin for collecting trash; a mechanical section with hydraulics that control the compaction of trash; an engine that powers everything else on board; and more.
Garbage trucks also have different features depending on where they’re being used. For example, some models may be equipped with seats, steering wheels and mirrors as well as all-weather wipers, headlights and lights at night.
