Checker Hire started up in 2003 as a hiring agency specialising in short term rental of refuse trucks and sweepers. It became apparent that there was a big demand for backup / stand-in vehicles for municipalities and private contractors. Due to the nature of the waste management industry, vehicles do break down, which causes down-time and eventually lack of service.

By providing this rental assistance we enable our clients to eliminate the downtime, and keep everything running smoothly. Combined with high performance quality chassis’ from leading manufacturers, we use Heil® refuse trucks, Johnston® sweepers and Mechlift® lifters; all leaders in their respective industries, known for proven quality, service and parts availability.

Our vehicles are maintained and serviced by professionals in the field with more than 100 years technical experience combined.
